Vidhana Soudha, the impressive seat of the State Legislative Assembly is the prime attraction of Bangalore. The architecture of Vidhana Soudha is a neo-Dravidian architecture which
sprawls over 50,000 sq. m.
Bangalore Palace and Fort: The Bangalore Fort was built by Kempe Gowda and expanded by Tippu Sultan. The Bangalore Palace was built by a Wodeyar king in 1887 on an area of 400 acres.
Inspired by the Windsor castle, this palace was built in the Tudor style, with Gothic windows, foiled windows, battlements and turrets resembling the Daria Daulat Palace in Srirangapatanam, this
summer palace has been built largely on wood and is famous for its sculptures and paintings.
Lalbagh Botanical Garden: This park is spread over 240 acres and located in the heart of the city, Lalbagh is Bangalore's lung space. Within its environs, there is a 30 acre lake,
a 3000 million year old rock formation, a Glass House, a watchtower put up by Kempegowda and a mind boggling array of plants, flowers and trees.
Cubbon Park: On an expanse of grass a few hundred acres in the center of the city, planned and constructed in 1864 by Sir Richard Sankey, the then Chief Engineer of Mysore. It is
named after Sir Mark Cubbon, Commissioner of the older Bangalore. Lawns with vibrant flower beds, shady bowers and flowering trees make this region an ideal place for fitness freaks and seniors to
take their morning jog or evening stroll.
ISKCON Temple: Perched atop a hill and dominating the landscape around it, this is an example of the modern Indian temple. Sri Krishna is the main deity of the temple. ISKCON is
located on the Chord Road, it is a must visit temple in Bangalore.
Shiva Statue: This statue on Murugeshpalya (old/HAL Airport Road) features a 65 ft statue of Lord Shiva in lotus pose, against the backdrop of Mount Kailash. This statue is wonderful
to look at in the evenings especially when the pristine white statue is illuminated.
Bull Temple: The main attraction of this 16th century shrine is the monolithic granite statue of Nandi (Bull), about 15 feet high and 20 feet long. On the way to the Bull Temple,
there is Dodda Ganesha Temple, with a monolithic Ganesha idol of 18 meter high.
Gavi Gangadareshwara Temple: This temple is known for its four monolithic pillars and rare idol of Lord Agni, the God of fire, A unique phenomena is witnessed here on Makara Sankranti
