Venkataramanaswamy temple: This is about 300 year old temple built by Maharajah Chikka Devaraya Wodeyar. This temple is located neighboring to Tipu's summer palace. Bull Temple is located in Basavanagudi, one of the main layouts of Bangalore. The temple is exclusively for the worship of the sacred bull in Hinduism, known as Nandi (Bull). The temple was built in 1537 by Kempegowda, the founder of Bangalore. Bull Temple is built in Vijayanagar style. The idol of Nandi is said to be one of the largest Nandi idols in the world.
ISKCON Temple: Perched atop a hill and dominating the landscape around it, this is an example of the modern Indian temple. Sri Krishna is the main deity of the temple. ISKCON is located on the Chord Road, it is a must visit temple in Bangalore.
Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple is an ancient temple and an example of Indian rock-cut architecture in Bangalore. The chief deity of this temple is Lord Gangadhareshwara (Lord Shiva). It is a natural monolith rock formation with the cave temple carved out of it. The temple has four monolithic pillars and a rare idol of Agni, the God of fire.
Shiva Statue: The 65 feet Shiva statue is one of the main attractions of Bangalore. This temple is located in Murugeshpalya (HAL airport road).
Someshwara Temple: The ancient temple dedicated to Lord Someshwara (Shiva) is located in Halasuru. This temple was built by the Hoysalas between the 12th and 13th centuries and renovated by Kempegowda.
Banashankari Temple: This temple is also recognized as one of the oldest temple of Bangalore. The main deity of this temple is Goddess Banashankari. The layout where the temple is located is also Banashankari as it gets its name from the Goddess Banashankari Temple on Kanakapura Road in Bangalore.
Ragigudda Anajaneya Swamy Temple: This ancient temple is located in Jayanagar 9th Block. This temple located on the hillock and dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The other deities residing in this temple are Lord Shiva, Lord Rama, Sita 7 lakshman, Lord Ganesh, Goddess Rajarajeshwari.
Rajarajeshwari Temple: This temple was built in the late 1960s and it is located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. This temple is maintained by the Kailasa Ashrama Trust and Jnanakshi Shri Rajarajeshwari as its chief deity.
