The following are few important tourist spots around Bangalore.

Bannerghatta National Park: The Park is located in a picturesque surrounding with a variety of fauna, at a distance of 22 km from Bangalore in Anekal Road. The National Park is one of the major Bangalore Tourist Spots. The main attractions of Bannerghatta National Park are bisons, Elephants, Baboons, Panthers, Jackals and Lion taled Monkeys. Inside this park has a snake park, lion and tiger safari. It covers a 100 sq km, has a lion and tiger 'safari'. The park will be closed on Tuesdays.

Channapatna: Channapattana is small town located at a distance of 60 km from Bangalore on Bangalore - Mangalore highway. The main attraction of Channapatna is wooden toys. Every person in this town is involved in some aspect of making colorful lacquer wooden toys.

Mekedatu: is located at a distance of 100 km from Bangalore on Kanakapura road. Mekedatu is one of the beautiful tourist spots were river Kaveri offers an unforgettable location. It tumbles down majestically through a deep ravine, on top of which is a chasm around 5meters wide, narrow enough for a goat to leak across.

Shivaganga: is located at distance of 60 km from Bangalore city. Shivaganga is attractive hill with four faces, rising to a height of 4599 ft looks like a Nandi from the East, Ganesh from the West, a Linga from the South and Cobra with it hood spread from the North side.

Ramohalli is just 28 km from Bangalore city. The fabulous big banyan tree spreads over 4 acres which makes interesting picnic spot. The 400 years old tree witnesses the penance of sage Muneshwara.

Shivanasamudra is located at a distance of 120 km from Bangalore. The charming waterfalls, the Ganganchukki and the Bharachukki, cascade down 90 meters are the main attractions. These water falls are in full magnificence during July-August.
